The Fishers SmartPass is an electronic access pass. The access pass currently provides access to Geist Waterfront Park for Fishers residents. The Fishers SmartPass capabilities will be expanded in the future for other community amenities.
Geist Waterfront Park is open from dawn to dusk daily with gated access at the entrance of the park. Park-goers will use their smartphone to scan at the gated entrance.
A gate attendant will be present during the beach season. A smartphone with your Fishers SmartPass, or QR code for day passes, is required to be scanned to allow access to the Park.
Yes, currently this is the only park location and/or amenity that requires the Fishers SmartPass to gain entry.
No. We recommend registering for a SmartPass a minimum of 15 minutes prior to arriving to Geist Waterfront Park. Parking day passes for non-residents must be purchased no later than 48 hours prior to park opening for the day you intend to visit.
Only residents with a Fishers-based address are eligible to register for a Fishers SmartPass. This includes residents with addresses in unincorporated areas.
Currently, only residents with a Fishers address are eligible to sign up for a Fishers SmartPass. Specifically, residents of either Delaware or Fall Creek Township are considered Fishers residents under this policy.
The Fishers SmartPass is free of charge.
Access to Geist Waterfront Park requires one Fishers SmartPass per vehicle. Each individual in your party is not required to have their own Fishers SmartPass. Members of the same family, older than 18, should create their own pass as the Fishers SmartPass and OpenPath Mobile Access app is only accessed on the phone you used to set up your account.
No. Much like a membership card for a gym or other membership-based organization, your Fishers SmartPass will be scanned via your smartphone and will not expire.
The City of Fishers will review accounts annually to determine if the account is inactive or active.

If residents are unable to use a smartphone, a physical SmartPass is available. Residents must register online at playfishers.com/SmartPass and indicate they do not have a smartphone during registration. The user will be contacted when their Fishers SmartPass card is available for pickup at the City Services Building (3 Municipal Dr, Fishers, IN 46038; (317) 595-3111 ; Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 p.m.).
No, however, the City of Fishers anticipates offering this feature in the future.
There is no limit to the number of times you can visit the park. The Fishers SmartPass gives you access to the park and is considered unlimited.
The Fishers SmartPass will allow one vehicle through the gate at a time. The limit for the number of guests in your party is equivalent to the number of seat belts in your vehicle.
Minors under the age of 16 are not permitted in the park without an adult. That said, minors between 16 and 18 are not permitted to sign up for their own Fishers SmartPass and must either access the park with an adult or enter via pedestrian access.
No, any visitors under the age of 18 will be covered by the Fishers SmartPass holder entering the park.

All such items must have prior approval and should be a part of your Special Event Permit request.
You may have a food truck at your event. The food truck must obtain a food truck permit with the City of Fishers Community Development Department. The only time a food truck would not require a permit is in the event of the food truck being use for catering purposes. For example, a business is having an employee appreciation day and is paying for all of the food for its employees where individual transactions do not take place between an employee and the food truck, no permit would be required.
This permit is issued through the State of Indiana Department of Homeland Security. Visit the State of Indiana Department of Homeland Security Website for more information.
If approved, Fishers may allow canopies and tents; however stakes are not allowed due to the multiple underground utilities. However, water barrels, bricks, and other forms of weight are permitted for use.
You may contact the city's Fire and Emergency Services Department at 317-595-3200 for more information.
