Stained Glass for Beginners
July 17 | 6 to 8:30 p.m. | Ages 12+ | $95 per person
During this fun and informative class, get your hands on glass, and learn the process of creating stained glass from start to finish, using the copper-foil technique. You don’t need any experience, just enthusiasm, and a willingness to try something new. We supply everything you will need to create your project, and there will be several design patterns to choose from, and a selection of colored glass will be provided. We will teach you how to “cut” glass, apply the copper foil, and solder your piece together. By the end of the 3-hour class you will have your very own creation completed and ready to take home with you. This class is offered in partnership with Master Repurposers.
Intermediate Stained Glass
July 18 & 19 | 6 to 8:30 p.m. | Ages 12+ | $149 per person
Now that you've learned the basics, this two-day, intermediate class will cover several new topics to expand your knowledge as you create a larger project than in the beginner class. During the construction of your piece, we will talk about how to design a pattern and prepare your templates from that pattern, how to use stained glass patina to "color" your solder joints after the project is soldered, and the different methods available to frame your piece. While you're working on your project, there will be plenty of time for general questions as well. Hand tools will be available for use during class, and supplies are included in the class cost. All registrants must have completed the prerequisite class, “Stained Glass for Beginners,” or must have basic experience with glass cutting, copper foil, and soldering. This class is offered in partnership with Master Repurposers.
