- Art Classes & Workshops
Take an art class or sign up for a workshop taught by local and regional makers and artists! Get involved in ways to explore and get your hands on new applications of traditional arts. We've partnered with local instructors to previously offer classes and workshops in stained glass, fashion design, eco-dyeing, sewing and textiles, and so much more! All sessions will take place in the Maker Labs or in the Maker Playground makerspace at the Fishers Parks HQ, 8100 E. 106th Street, in Fishers. Laser Cutting & Engraving
5 to 8 p.m. every other Tuesday
Our Shop Class series at the Maker Playground covers safety and operational procedures of the equipment in our makers-ace! This class will teach you the basics of laser cutting and engraving. Upcoming class date

March 11 & 12 | 1 to 5 p.m. each day | Ages 10+ | $150 per person
Calling all anime fans! Join this workshop for a quick sewing intro with hot glue, paint, foam, and cardboard available to create your design! Local artist and maker Sewful Cheryl will touch base to learn what cosplay you want to do and discuss materials to bring.
April 3-7 | 8:30 to 12:30 p.m. | Ages 6-14 | $209 per person
Our spring break art camp is offered in partnership with the Indianapolis Art Center and are modeled after their acclaimed summer art camps. Led by a professional, teaching artist, campers will participate in a variety of art activities - including painting, drawing, and sculpting - each day. The week will conclude with a student-led art show for friends and family. All materials provided. Registration required.
April 3-7 | 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. | Ages 6-14 | $209 per person

April 4, 5, & 6 | 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. -OR- 2 to 5 p.m. | Ages 12+ | $95 per person
During this fun and informative class, you will get your hands on glass and learn the process of creating stained glass from start to finish, using the copper-foil technique. You don’t need any experience, just enthusiasm, and a willingness to try something new. We supply everything you will need to create your project. There will be several design patterns to choose from. and a selection of colored glass will be provided. We will teach you how to “cut” glass, apply the copper foil, and solder your piece together. By the end of the 3-hour class you will have your very own creation completed and ready to take home with you.
April 4 & 5 | 6 to 8:30 p.m. each day | Ages 12+ | $149 per person
Take the follow-up, two-day workshop to "Stained Glass for Beginners," and learn what comes next. Create your own stained glass piece in this workshop to expand upon the basic skills of beginner stained glass. Registration required.
April 15 | 1 to 4 p.m. | Ages 12+ | $45 per person
Basic sewing machine experience needed. We will do a quick refresher on using the sewing machine. Bring your project/pattern/material and let's sew away. Instructor Sewful Cheryl will offer any guidance and sewing machines available for use.
June 10 & 11 | 1 to 4 p.m. each day | Ages 12+ | $150 per person
Learn how to dye with natural materials! You will get a chance to eco print, create a mandala from pounding flowers and leaves, and ice dye to make a throw pillow cover. Bring your own T-shirt or small item made from natural plant material (cotton, linen, hemp) to eco dye!
July 8 & 9 | 1 to 4 p.m. each day | Ages 10+ | $150 per person
